Preble County Public Health is constantly exploring new ways to promote and protect the public's health in Preble County. New programs and opportunities are either in planning stages or are currently being implemented in order to fill gaps in the community's well being. While some of these programs don't easily fit into defined categories, they remain just as important.
Health Education
At Preble County Public Health, our staff focuses on the health needs and services of the community with a special emphasis placed on health promotion, prevention, and developing links to the Preble County resources through health screenings, education and referrals. Through implementation of our Community Health Improvement Plan and several health needs assessments, we are able to target areas of greatest need in our county.
Public Health Data Informatics
Preventing disease and injury among Preble County residents is a primary goal for staff at Preble County Public Health (PCPH). Our epidemiologist and public health nurses work to detect and help diagnose community health issues in Preble County including STDs and seasonal flu.
Prescription Drug Drop Box
The Ohio Attorney General’s Office partnered with the Ohio Department of Health and the Drug Free Action Alliance to provide free collection bins to local law enforcement agencies in Ohio. The drop boxes are mailbox-style disposal bins that can be placed inside law enforcement agencies to be used by residents during normal business hours.
